A colleague of mine told me about this website: http://www.no-ip.com/getting_started.php

I registered my own domain and I am using the service now. It's great.

Give it a try.

David "Ice Cold" BierAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11763059.post-1144344217710358822006-04-06T12:23:00.000-05:002006-04-06T12:23:00.000-05:00Hey Esther!Skype me @ 'chrstoohey' and we'll talk!...Hey Esther!

Skype me @ 'chrstoohey' and we'll talk!

-ChrisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11763059.post-1142609074284681022006-03-17T09:24:00.000-06:002006-03-17T09:24:00.000-06:00Thanks, Joe. Looks like I'm going with Prominic!Estherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03164000921862877220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11763059.post-1142602072861082202006-03-17T07:27:00.000-06:002006-03-17T07:27:00.000-06:00Prominic has been great for me. I dropped the email I'd had through them (which had been another $8/mo), since I use GMail for all my non-work email now. And since I now have Google handling the search on the site, dropping the full-text index of the db brought the MB usage well within the allowed range. I've also found the support to be great - although I've only contacted them a couple of times over the years.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11763059.post-1142540815188530022006-03-16T14:26:00.000-06:002006-03-16T14:26:00.000-06:00Thanks, Christopher. Even if they aren't, I'll probably go with them - $10/month is about as cheap as I think I'm going to find, and it's not going to be high-enough traffic to require one of the production packages. I just wanted to get input from someone other than Jake as to whether Prominic is reliable. Sounds like they are.Estherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03164000921862877220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11763059.post-1142537011282847432006-03-16T13:23:00.000-06:002006-03-16T13:23:00.000-06:00Prominic is who hosts my blog and I have been very...Prominic is who hosts my blog and I have been very happy with them, paying about US$10 a month for a partioned server hosting agreement. You might want to ask them or Chris Miller at Connectria if they would do it as a freebie.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11763059.post-1142534484563958772006-03-16T12:41:00.000-06:002006-03-16T12:41:00.000-06:00Thanks, Jess. You've pretty much confirmed my suspicion that I don't know enough about admin stuff to want to run my own server...

dominodeveloper.net and prominic are the two that I'm looking closely at. I'll take a look at connectria, as well.Estherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03164000921862877220noreply@blogger.com
